MCC Engineer
Job Description
Job Purpose:
Serve as the focal point for all UAE, Hub, and Outstation maintenance activities on a 24/7 basis. Ensure the timely availability and continued airworthiness of Air Arabia and third-party aircraft in compliance with business requirements, GCAA/CAA regulations, and Air Arabia’s policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
Identify, assess, report, and monitor technical defects on Air Arabia’s fleet to ensure AMP tasks are conducted efficiently, keeping aircraft maintained to technical standards whether airborne or grounded.
Support Engineering Planning, Development, STP, and QA teams with both long-term and short-term planning, monitoring fleet maintenance operations to ensure safe and timely release to service.
Allocate and prioritize work packages among teams, ensuring timely and efficient task delivery and handover.
Proactively address potential technical issues that could impact fleet airworthiness and operational schedules.
Technical Guidance and Support
Provide round-the-clock technical guidance to Line, Base, Outstation maintenance staff, and MROs, ensuring all work is in compliance with GCAA/CAA regulations and Air Arabia quality standards.
Offer immediate technical support to pilots and cabin crew during flights or on the ground, adapting to schedule changes to maintain operational coverage.
Record and document maintenance tasks accurately in the aircraft’s logbook, guiding pilots and crew on proper documentation procedures.
Communication and Reporting
Collaborate with the MCC Manager and stakeholders in monitoring daily technical performance, incident data, and records, promptly addressing issues that impact operational performance.
Prepare reports on technical performance trends and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Support MCC audit practices by ensuring compliance with internal and external audit guidelines and regulations.
Training and Emergency Management
Assist the Manager of Training and Standards in technical training for MCC team members, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations. Conduct training and assessments for certifying engineers, instructors, and technicians.
Manage emergency situations across the network, utilizing available resources to recommend effective solutions; ground aircraft as needed for AOG cases and share incident insights with MCC Engineers and maintenance staff.
Stakeholder Communication
Maintain effective communication with service providers, suppliers, and MROs, providing feedback on service quality and generating periodic performance reports for the MCC Manager.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engineering or Aeronautics, or a related diploma combined with necessary experience.
Licenses: Holds or has held a type-rating maintenance license; ICAO state AME license and experience with other aircraft types are advantageous.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, capable of using technology systems and tools.
Language: Fluent in English.
Work Experience
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in aviation engineering maintenance, with at least 3 years in a Maintenance Control Center and 2 years in a leadership role.
Expertise: Direct experience with Civil Aviation Authorities, ideally GCAA, with strong knowledge of engineering maintenance regulations and flight operations.
Additional Skills: Strong understanding of Quality Assurance, Safety, and Audit functions, along with experience implementing maintenance policies and procedures.
Attributes: High attention to detail, balanced personality, able to manage emergencies effectively, strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with a focus on cost-effective solutions.
