Job Title: Workshop Controller
Job Summary:
The Workshop Manager oversees the daily operations and organization of the automotive workshop to maximize profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction. This role includes managing workshop procedures, staff, and equipment while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The Workshop Manager will play a key role in customer relations, handling complaints, and promoting the brand to drive departmental growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the smooth operation of workshop procedures, focusing on increasing turnover and profitability.
Set daily targets and monitor actual turnover against targets.
Optimize workshop capacity and workforce utilization to ensure high-quality repairs.
Manage apprentice training and coordinate on-the-job training with the training manager.
Oversee warranty handling and procedures during repairs.
Facilitate effective communication between service reception and workshop teams, ensuring accurate information exchange.
Implement accident prevention measures in the workshop.
Ensure proper use, maintenance, and quality of workshop equipment.
Uphold QMA guidelines and dealer standards for repair quality and workshop procedures.
Flexibly manage working hours based on workload demands.
Ensure accurate job descriptions and checks on job cards before vehicle testing.
Confirm that workshop staff and team leaders sign off on completed repairs before testing.
Enforce adherence to workshop time schedules and staff working hours.
Focus on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Address and resolve customer complaints with corrective actions.
Provide excellent customer service and conduct regular follow-ups.
Maintain professional communication with customers throughout the sales and service process.
Drive customer engagement and build brand loyalty by promoting products and services.
Develop strong customer relationships, focusing on business growth and satisfaction.
Maintain thorough product knowledge and uphold high standards of integrity, ethics, and service quality.
Suggest and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 5 years in workshop management within the automotive industry, with at least 2 years in a premium or luxury brand environment.
Technical Knowledge: Expertise in luxury vehicles and familiarity with CDK Autoline is advantageous.
Education: Diploma or degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; certifications in automotive service or workshop management are preferred.
Other Requirements: Strong leadership and team management skills, a valid UAE driving license.
