Job Title: Groundman

Job Summary:
The Rigger will assist in crane operations, ensuring safe and effective rigging, load handling, and lifting support. This role includes anchoring, verifying lifting points, clearing paths, and enforcing safety measures to prevent accidents and ensure smooth crane operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure crane anchorage and de-anchorage are prepared upon instruction.
Verify lifting points for secure attachment of hoist slings and taglines.
Maintain a clear crane path at all times, warning personnel of potential hazards.
Safely lash and secure loads to prevent dropped objects during lifting.
Barricade or isolate areas as needed for safety during lifting operations.
Monitor materials arriving from ships, ensuring they are parked within designated areas (yellow line) and ready for pick-up.
Observe and warn incoming vehicles approaching the rail crane to prevent collisions.
Assist with rigging and de-rigging materials at ground level in coordination with crane movements.
Support crane foreman with tasks such as gangway installation.
Report unsafe or hazardous conditions to the Supervisor.
Follow daily operations and instructions to ensure workflow continuity.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Secondary school education.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months in rigging or crane operations.
Certifications: Basic rigging and crane hand signal training.
Language Skills: Working knowledge of English; additional languages are a plus.
Other Skills: Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions.
