Job Title: Fitter Heavy Duty
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance services, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment. The role includes reporting issues, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and ensuring the timely completion of assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical preventive maintenance service (PMS) on equipment according to maintenance packages within the specified time frame.
Report any defects or issues found during maintenance to the foreman or team leader.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns at the site, providing feedback to superiors upon job completion.
Dismantle components of equipment, updating the foreman on work progress and parts requirements.
Maintain positive working relationships with workers, foremen, supervisors, and management.
Ensure materials meet required standards before use and report any damages as necessary.
Attend relevant training sessions for activities required by the department.
Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area, especially after job completion.
Follow day-to-day operations related to the role to ensure workflow continuity.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: 2-year technical certificate in a relevant trade (diesel mechanic or automobile).
Experience: Industrial/vocational training.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge to read and understand equipment manuals, troubleshoot plant equipment on-site, diagnose issues, and repair as necessary.
Additional Knowledge: Working knowledge of diesel engines, troubleshooting, hydraulic systems, and schematic diagrams.
