Job Opportunity: Synthetic Flight Examiner
Air Arabia is seeking a Synthetic Flight Examiner to oversee and evaluate the training programs and proficiency checks of pilots, ensuring high standards in line with GCAA/CAA regulations. This position plays a crucial role in upholding safety, efficiency, and compliance through structured training and assessment of pilot competency.
Job Purpose
The Synthetic Flight Examiner is responsible for:
Conducting Pilot Proficiency checks for initial type rating and ATPL issuance.
Ensuring the effectiveness of pilot training programs and maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training Design & Implementation
Training Programs: Contribute to creating and implementing pilot training programs to meet operational standards detailed in the Operational Manual Part (D).
Compliance: Ensure all training adheres to GCAA/CAA requirements, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
Training Coverage: Partner with the Supervisor/Manager to ensure programs cover both theoretical and practical components, including Initial and Recurrent Training, Aircraft Systems, Simulator, and Crew Resource Management.
Needs Assessment: Collaborate with various teams to assess training needs for Flight Crew, schedule sessions, and report on trainee performance.
Evaluation & Certification
Guidance and Coaching: As an approved “SFE,” provide guidance to Training Instructors, deliver “Leadership” courses, and offer one-on-one coaching sessions.
Performance Review: Assess and certify the competency of Pilots, First Officers, and Second Officers, maintaining records to ensure timely recertification.
Documentation and Audits: Support the training team in audit requirements, ensuring the availability and compliance of necessary documents and records.
Operational Excellence
Manual Updates: Regularly update the Flight Operations Manual and integrate it into training courses.
Collaboration: Partner with the Chief Pilot and OCC Manager to ensure all training-related notices and procedures are communicated and understood by the team.
Facility and Equipment Readiness: Oversee the readiness of training facilities, equipment, and tests.
Additional Support
Question Database: Contribute to maintaining an updated question databank for Pilot selection and evaluation exams.
New Pilot Induction: Support new joiners in the Induction Program and Simulator training, providing guidance on LMS content.
Training for Third Parties: Conduct training courses for third parties as per approved SLAs and contractual agreements.
Qualifications & Experience
Licenses: Must hold or have held a CPL, MPL, or ATPL in the relevant aircraft category.
Proficiency Check: Must have completed a proficiency check for the applicable aircraft type within the past 12 months.
Flight Time Requirement: Minimum of 1,500 hours as a pilot on multi-pilot aircraft or powered-lift aircraft.
Route Sectors/Simulator Sessions: Must have completed at least:3 route sectors in the past 12 months, or
2 simulator sessions of at least 2 hours each, including pre-flight and debriefing, conducted by qualified crew.
